A man in New Mexico has inherited his mother's extensive doll collection. He plans on fulfilling his mother's wishes by giving the collection back to the community.
The Barbie area of the collection is stacked on wall to wall shelves. There are over 500 dolls which are still in their original packaging. It is worth noting that this woman collected a wide range of dolls. Some of the dolls included in the collection are Barbies, china dolls and Cabbage Patch dolls.
The woman behind it all started collecting dolls when she was a teacher during World War 2. Many of her students would send her special edition dolls from overseas. As a result the collection has zodiac, native American and military dolls. Over the years she kept adding to her stockpile of dolls. In fact it got so bad that at one point family members were unable to get inside her home.
The son of the collector John Wall intends on selling the collection. Some of these dolls will be sold online while others will be sold at an offline store. John has rented a property to sell the dolls from for a short amount of time. Items in the store will be priced from $1 to $10. The dolls are worth far more than their sale price. John is unconcerned about making a profit. When people have asked him why he is selling the dolls at such a cheap rate, he stated he wants them to go to a good home.
