There is another Barbie doll that is going to be auctioned off to charity and no, it is not one of the older Barbie dolls. It is none other than Katy Perry. Honestly, if I had to choose between the Katy Perry and the Nicki Minaj dolls I would choose Katy Perry. For some strange reason, she has always struck me as a Barbie material. She has a great personality and her style is inspiring. Not to mention her music is too catchy to ignore.

The inspiration for the Katy Perry Barbie was taken from one of her tour moments. Apparently there was an outfit she was wearing while performing that just screamed out to the executives at Mattel "She's our next Barbie!"

Let me be the first to admit that when Perry first came out when that "Kissed a Girl" song I was not too thrilled. In fact, I was so shocked that this was what they were calling music that I stopped listening to the radio on my way to work in the mornings. I vowed to never become a fan of Katy Perry and her shenanigans. However, upon being introduced to some of her other music from various coworkers and retail stores, I couldn’t help but be suckered in and am now known as a KP groupie. Nevertheless, I think her Barbie is a good look for her and I think it is also a smart move for Barbie's creators. I just hope that they will make more Katy Perry dolls so that more than one lucky auction winner can own her.
