Over the years, there have been various movies that have featured Barbie as the main characters. These movies include original stories with Barbie as well as retelling of popular stories.

For many of these movies, additional toys and merchandise have been released as well. These types of merchandise and toys includes CDs, dolls, stuffed animals, and clothing. These allow children to play out their favorite scenes from the movies or to listen to their favorite songs from the movie.

The first two Barbie movies were released in 1987 with a third released in 1992. After that, no Barbie movies were released until 2001. This second release of the Barbie movies were the beginning of Barbie being featured in popular storybook and fairytale settings. Since then one to two movies have been released each year. In total, 23 Barbie movies have been released.

In addition to her own line of movies, the Barbie doll has also been featured in other movies as well with either a supporting role or a mention. She has been seen in the popular children’s movie series “Toy Story” and can also be seen in the “My Scene” movies.
