Here's a painting by Seattle-based artist Mon Sal, who has found Barbie to be her muse. The artist, born and raised in El Salvador never played with Barbies until she was an adult, having been brought up in a Marxist household, Barbie was a forbidden object in her household. Now that the artist resides in the US she can't get enough of Barbie. She is currently working on a website to showcase her art, this is just a sneak preview of what is to come.
