And that is precisely what the special birthday girl will be getting for her birthday blow-out next year when she turns 50. The great fashion designer, most notably known for his ultra-fab shoe dersigns, Christian Louboutin, is the latest designer to jump on board with Mattel's celebration of Barbie's 50th birthday celebration which features the launch of designer's fashions made for the diminutive model, and for real-life-size women. Christian Louboutin has designed a pair of high-heel pumps, with his trademark red soles, for the iconic doll, which will be unveiled next year. There will be more than fifty designers, including Vera Wang and Jeremy Scott, contributing to the birthday extravaganza, which will come about in the form of a fashion show in New York's Fashion Week 2009.
